How to Add Large Files From Server to Your WordPress Admin Panel Medial Library

First in your admin panel go to "Add New Plugin" find and install the following plug in:

The heart of a CMS is the ability to upload and insert content, WordPress does a fantastic job at this, unfortunately, some web hosts have limited servers, or users simply do not have the ability to upload large files through their web browser. Add From Server is designed to help ease this pain, You can upload a bunch of files via FTP (Or your favourite transmission method) and simply import those files from the webserver directly into WordPress.

After you install it and activate it, go to media library tab and click "Add from server" tab

From there you should choose the root menue and checkbox all files you want to import.

HOW TO UPLOAD FILES TO WORDPRESS MEDIA THROUGH USE OF FTP

Step 1

Open Windows Explorer by clicking the Start button and selecting "Computer."

Step 2

Type your FTP address in the address bar. To obtain the FTP address, log in to your Web host cPanel and click for "FTP" in the panel. Most Web hosts display your FTP information in this section. If you cannot locate your FTP information, contact your web host. Your FTP address will, in most cases, appear like this: ftp://yourusername@ftp.yourdomainname. Replace "yourusername" with your assigned FTP username, and "yourdomainname" with your domain name, including the top-level domain such as .com or .org.

Step 3

Enter your Web host account username and password in the Windows prompt dialog window. Wait for Windows Explorer to connect to your Web host server files.

Step 4

Double-click the folder named "public_html" to access your WordPress website. Locate your site in the list of folders. Double-click the domain name of your site to access the site's internal folders.

Step 5

Double-click the folder named "wp-content." Double-click the folder named "uploads."

Step 6

Create a new folder or open an existing folder. WordPress organizes uploads by year and month.

Step 7

Locate the files on your computer you want to upload to WordPress. Drag the file from your computer into the WordPress file. Wait for the files to transfer. The speed of the file transfer will vary depending on the size of your file and the speed of your Internet connection.

Step 8

Close both windows when you are finished.
